Job Description

Griffin Marine is a leading marine service provider specialising in multi-disciplinary industrial services and project management. With a focus on proactive and professional support, we are committed to delivering high-quality and trustworthy service.

The Fabricator is responsible for interpreting technical drawings, cutting, shaping materials and assembling fabricated components to specification. This role requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings and technical specifications to determine project requirements
  • Cut, shape, fit and assemble materials using appropriate hand and power tools
  • Weld, solder and braze components to produce finished products in accordance with quality standards
  • Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with specifications
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to materials, fabrication processes or equipment
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised work environment
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures

Skills and Experience:

  • Trade-qualified Steel Fabricator / Welder (Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication or equivalent), or a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant fabrication experience
  • Competent in the use of hand and power tools
  • Sound knowledge of welding, soldering and brazing techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Proven problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Current driver’s licence (Required)
  • Confined Space, Working at Heights, EWP, Forklift and Fire Sentry tickets –(Desirable)
  • Ability to hold and obtain a National Police Clearance and Defence Clearance – (Required)
