Job Description

Long Prairie Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a Fabrication Superintendent at our Long Prairie, MN plant.

As our Fabrication Superintendent, you will:

  • Manage all fabrication processes; make sure all operations are efficient, effective, and accurate according to customer specifications.
  • Monitor downtime; provide solutions to reduce downtime.
  • Monitor efficiencies.
  • Maintain high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible.
  • Active food security and defense surveillance inside the facility and its operation.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the area(s).
  • Complete reports and paperwork (discipline, progress evaluations, terminations, etc.).
  • Check daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders, ensure every position is filled before start-up of production line, and job rotation in order to facilitate ergonomics, and ensure all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible.
  • Make sure all SQF, GMP, SOP, HACCP and OSHA rules are being followed.
  • Ensure employee welfare and safety; promote safety on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must have HACCP and GMP knowledge.
  • Must have a good attendance and safety record.
  • Must have good computer skills (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Must be able to successfully complete training:
    • Safety.
    • Safe Quality Food (SQF).
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Food defense.
    • Humane Handling.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the entire Fabrication process.
  • Good computer skills: ability to use designated programs including Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Display a strong work ethic and a professional attitude and appearance
  • Must be assertive and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform consistent, accurate work with minimal direction, and work successfully as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Develop and maintain effective employee relations
  • Encourage professional team building
  • Follow and enforce safety rules, housekeeping, and proper operation of equipment
  • Ability to manage a group of personnel who perform various production tasks or activities.
  • Ability to understand and control the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with all levels of employees from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.
  • Ability to lead by example, encourage teamwork and learning, and motivate the hourly workforce.
  • Ability to maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.

What We Offer:

  • The expected base salary range for this position is between $95,000 to $105,000. However, your actual base pay may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to your job-related experience, qualifications, skills, expertise, and geographic location.
  • This base salary is a component of our total compensation package, which also includes the following:
    • This position is eligible for the Company's discretionary annual bonus plan and merit increases.
