Position Summary

A confidential industrial services company in Monroe, Louisiana is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Supervisor to lead day-to-day production in a custom industrial fabrication environment. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating people, workflow, quality, safety, and delivery across active fabrication jobs.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily fabrication-shop production and coordinate employees across active jobs.
• Set workflow priorities and allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet customer due dates.
• Lead welders, fitters, fabricators, and other shop personnel while maintaining a visible floor presence.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, specifications, and job requirements.
• Work with tradespeople to troubleshoot fabrication, welding, fit-up, and equipment issues.
• Support training and development of welders, fitters, and fabricators.
• Maintain strong safety, housekeeping, and quality-control standards throughout the shop.
• Coordinate with estimating, project management, machining, and other departments to improve production flow.
• Provide practical input on fabrication labor hours, tooling, equipment needs, and production sequencing.
• Monitor completed work for quality and conformance with specifications; document and resolve corrections as needed.
• Promote accountability, urgency, communication, and on-time completion of fabrication work.

Qualifications

• Strong industrial fabrication and welding background.
• Previous supervisory, foreman, lead-fabricator, lead-welder, or comparable shop-leadership experience.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Working knowledge of welding, fit-up, layout, cutting, and general fabrication processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead shop personnel, assign work, maintain production priorities, and solve problems.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication, organization, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively with production employees, estimators, project managers, and customers.

Preferred Profile

• Several years of direct fabrication-shop leadership experience.
• Extensive hands-on fabrication and/or welding experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience with structural steel, piping, custom equipment, industrial maintenance, or heavy mechanical fabrication.
• Experience supporting estimating, job planning, scheduling, or production coordination.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is expected to be approximately $75,000-$85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan.
