Our Fabrication Center is a manufacturing organization that specializes in metal work. Our team supports customers from every defense department along with collaborative efforts with each Northrop Grumman sector. Our manufacturing focuses on sheet metal fabrication, large assembly, surface finishing, advanced model CNC machining along with advanced inspection techniques in both NDI and 3D technologies.
Responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize company’s productive capacity. Develop detailed tasks for operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases to ensure timely execution. Create work orders and track them through completion. Work with inventory control to support build requirements and provide status of completed and in process work. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to provide production control support within a high growth, fast paced work environment.
Specific duties and expectations:
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers.
Plans detail operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases.
Determines the need for tooling and makes recommendations for the design and planning of required tools.
Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinates with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements.
Determines priorities, lead times, and shop floor schedules.
Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.
Ability to track and monitor machine capacity to include labor.
Prepare and submit status and performance reports
Utilize and interpret CAD modeling software (i.e., NX, SolidWorks)
Prepares and evaluates ROMs and proposals
Interfaces with customer; works under limited supervision
Prioritize multiple tasks,
Use your self starter and team player ability.
Use problem resolution skills
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years of experience working in inventory planning or materials requirements planning (MRP), or similar role within a highly technical manufacturing/production work environment
Technical skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work in a team environment.
Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience authoring, modifying, and auditing work procedures
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance.
U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
A current Secret or higher clearance.
Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
