Job Description

TrueTimber Outdoors is a design, distribution, and sourcing company, with over 100 employees, located in Inman, SC. The company specializes in apparel, textiles, marine components, hydrographic film and outdoor recreational accessories.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, highly organized Fabric and Apparel Design Assistant to join our team. In this role, your duties will include set up and managing filing systems, data entry, timely communication, while also ensuring that all customer needs and specifications are fulfilled.

  • Filing and Organization: Assist multiple departments by filing and organizing fabrics, trims, and apparel samples.
  • Fabric Management: Set up and maintain an organized inventory of fabrics, ensuring easy access and accurate records.
  • Sample Tracking: Track and organize sample trims, fabrics, and apparel, ensuring all items are properly labeled and stored.
  • Communication: Communicate with factories, licensees, and vendors as directed to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.
  • Support Design Team: Provide support to the design team by preparing materials and samples for meetings and presentations.
  • Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of fabric and trim samples, including details such as source, cost, and usage.
  • Quality Control: Assist in quality control checks of incoming materials and samples to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the design department.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in fabric and apparel design.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
