Job Description

Fab Reporting Business Analyst

As a Fab Reporting Business Analyst, you enable imec's Pilot Lines and Operations teams to make better and faster decisions through trusted operational data, analytics, and reporting solutions. You act as the bridge between business stakeholders, Fab operations, and ICT teams, translating operational needs into sustainable reporting solutions and data products that improve visibility, efficiency, quality, and decision-making across the organization. Rather than simply building reports, you help define how operational data is transformed into actionable insights, ensuring solutions are aligned with business processes, governance standards, and long-term strategic objectives.

What you will do

  • Partner with Fab stakeholders to understand operational challenges, processes, and information needs.
  • Translate business requirements into reporting solutions, dashboards, and data products that support operational decision-making. You create prototypes and/or wireframes to validate proposals with requesters.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and functional specifications to align solutions with stakeholder expectations.
  • Validate KPIs, business rules, data quality, performance, and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and developers to deliver scalable reporting solutions.
  • Coordinate testing activities and ensure solutions meet business needs before release.
  • Support users through documentation, training, issue investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to reporting governance, standardization, and the evolution of self-service analytics across the Fab.

Who you are

  • You hold a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Exact Sciences, or have equivalent experience.
  • You are passionate about turning data into actionable insights and helping stakeholders make better decisions.
  • You have experience with data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or data modelling.
  • You can quickly understand complex operational processes and translate business needs into practical solutions.
  • You are an engaged listener who enjoys collaborating with stakeholders from different technical and business backgrounds.
  • You communicate clearly and can explain data, concepts, and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You are proactive, curious, and not afraid to challenge assumptions or dive into unfamiliar topics.
  • You can work independently, take ownership of your work, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Power Query, self-service analytics, or modern data platforms is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in manufacturing, process industries, or semiconductor environments is a plus.
  • You are fluent in English and enjoy working in a highly international environment. You have minimum 2 years experience with data analysis, manipulation, visualization or data modelling for analytics (e.g., Kimball)
