Job Description

Duracell is seeking an accountant to join its GBS Asia Accounting team to execute the month-end close of all financial statements, reporting and internal controls. This role will be responsible to lead, improve and execute: the financial statement month end closing cycle in SAP (such as journal entries, accruals, accounts reconciliation, etc); perform required analysis and reporting of the financial statements (income statement and balance sheet); ensure intercompany balances are reconciled; ensure strong compliance of the financial statements with US GAAP and corporate policy.

The purpose of the accountant is to employ his/her skills to execute and improve the process in his responsibility while ensuring strong compliance with US GAPP. It requires a high level of technical knowledge in accounting and SAP; will also require strong operational discipline, communication and collaboration skills.

  • Lead and execute the end to end month end closing cycle for the income statement and balance sheet:

  • Work with multifunctional team to ensure accuracy of the financial statements;

  • Analyze and balance all accounts in preparation of closing;

  • Ensure all automatic postings are correct, providing research and analysis to solve and fix accounting discrepancies prior the closing;

  • Prepare and park journal entries;

  • Balance the Inter-companies;

  • Perform FX revaluation;

  • Perform accounts reconciliation;

  • Balance sheet review & analysis

  • Ensure strong compliance of all financial statements with US GAAP and company policy

  • Support Segment Accounting teams

  • Download and analyze Trial Balance from SAP;

  • Assist auditors in internal and external audits by providing the proper support documentation in a timely manner

  • Prepare Corp Tax submission, tax filing, WHT calculation.

  • Assist with the preparation and/or review and testing of projects related to optimization and automatization;

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and provide solutions for enhancement;

  • Execute the inventory count.

  • Costing tasks: standard cost, PIR, Transfer Price maintenance; Annual cost rate review; PPV analysis

  • Customer pricing upload.

  • Provide GL account code for AP/AR posting;

  • Ad hoc communication and analysis;

  • Cash Flow planning;

  • Segment Trainings (Accounting, internal control and compliance).

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience

  • End to end experience with month end closing cycle activities;

  • Audit and/or internal controls experience will be a plus;

  • Knowledge of HK taxation system will be a plus;

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, mostly advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, functions and formulas;

  • Experience of SAP or other ERP systems;

  • Blackline automation experience is a plus;

  • Good spoken and written English

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP accounting for all mayor financial statements;

  • Knowledge of SAP in: Records to reports and General ledger;

  • Ability to analyze and model data;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;

  • Detail and time-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects;

  • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, continuously changing, fast-paced environment;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • Ability to work effectively prioritizing competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
