The F/A-18 Aircraft Electrician will be responsible for Organizational Level (“O” level) support of the aircraft’s Electrical systems. To include:
Understanding pre / post flight activities and inspections
Performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance all applicable directives.
Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
Able to setup and use a torque wrench and use common hand tools such as: wrenches, safety wire pliers, etc.
Able to operate specialty tools such as crimpers, multimeters, M1 meters, Air data test sets, pin extractors.
Able to remove, replace, and function check aircraft components and assemblies
Knowledgeable in wire repair, splicing, soldering and wire bundling.
Able to disassemble, pin and de-pin connectors.
Maintain electrical and instrument systems, including power generation, conversion, and distribution.
Inspect and maintain aircraft batteries and electrical components.
Maintain interior and exterior lighting on the aircraft.
Handle electrical control of aircraft systems, including hydraulics, landing gear, utilities, and power plant engines
Supervision of automatic flight control and stabilization systems.
Detailing aircraft compass systems, altitude reference systems, and inertial navigational systems
The successful candidate will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all Aircraft electrical and navigation systems aboard the aircraft and will be tasked to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems encountered. You may also be called upon to also provide technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance to “O” Level technicians.
You should be familiar with IETM’s and Wire Illuminator, as well as the NAMP 4790 and applicable NAVAIR technical publications. As required, you may be required to generate written reports for management in support of any contractual obligations.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years experience with F/A-18G or relevant
Must posses and maintain an active Interim Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs, and the ability to maintain a full adjudicated Government Secret Clearance.
Must have familiarity with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
Must have Fiber Optic knowledge
Must have comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills.
Must have the ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements.
Must be able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
Must be able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
Will be required to comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD control, and all training and certification requirements.
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong preference to candidates who have supported U.S. Navy F-18 squadrons on deployment.

Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
