Job Description
The purpose of this position is to remove, install, troubleshoot electrical wiring systems associated wit major modifications on assigned aircraft, and perform similar duties regarding aircraft undergoing repair.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Removes components determined to be unserviceable in addition for preparation of necessary paper work citing malfunction.
- Following instructions set forth in technical orders and or removal lists, removes existing wiring and components of instrument and electronic systems.
- Affixes appropriate paper work to items along with reason for removal and forwards to staging area for turn in.
- Receives all modification kits and checks to insure availability of all parts / material.
- Provides technical guidance, training, and or assistance to fellow employees, as necessary.
- Responsible in installing new wiring harness, circuit breakers and junction boxes.
- Makes necessary repairs during either test by replacing wiring, circuit breakers, diodes, resistors, transformers, relays and switches.
- Installs new components required as modification as well as other components removed during modification.
- Assist other specialist in making operational test.
- Applies power to lighting system observing all indicators and lamps. If failure is observed, checks bulb, fuses, circuit breakers and wiring harness and makes necessary repairs.
- Applies power to navigation system components including compass, AHRS, control augmentation system, automatic pilot, indicators (horizontal situation, air speed, automatic direction, and bearing) central air data computer, altimeter, TACAN, automatic direction finder, flight director and transmitters.
