EYP M&A – Associate Manager

As part of our EYP M&A team, you will provide tactical and strategic advice to clients and help them grow inorganically or realize synergies through acquisitions, enter new geographical markets, sell or separate existing businesses, raise new capital (debt and equity) or restructure existing capital. The assistance ranges from pre-deal to closing a deal, including originating or identifying buy-side or sell-side M&A opportunities, preparing client discussion materials, identifying acquisition targets or strategic / financial buyers, transaction valuation, developing marketing collaterals, business plans, amongst others. The client base spans across industries and includes mid-sized corporates, multinational investors, Private Equity firms and family offices.

The opportunity

We’re looking for an Associate Manager with expertise in Investment Banking to join our EYP GDS M&A Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a dynamic team.

Your key responsibilities

• As a member of the sector practice at GDS M&A, the person would be providing M&A Advisory services to Global EYP leaders
• Responsible for leading client interactions, delivery, and relationship building with EYP Global Sector leaders – role would require direct coordination with onshore PPEDs / SMs / Ms
• Work across the entire M&A deal lifecycle from deal origination to closure, including transaction screening, proposals, pitch books, industry research, precedent transactions and comparative company valuation analysis, opportunity papers, Information Memorandums etc.
• Should have worked on creating financial (M&A) models
• Manage a team of 2-3 people. Act as a counsellor for team members. Identify L&D requirements of counselees
• Measure, monitor and improve client service by closely collaborating with the client and guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery
• Focus teams on the key priorities while working on and managing several medium-sized projects
• Ensure that team members deliver quality service as per client’s needs and priorities
• Partner with internal and external clients to improve processes
• Work with project leaders to analyse resource needs and gaps across locations, and devise alternative ways forward
• Travel on assignments abroad, as required

Skills and attributes for success

• Strong experience working in a Transaction (M&A) Advisory or Corporate Finance environment
• Strong research experience in a M&A
• Expertise in preparing Pitch books, Industry research, Company research, Opportunity Papers, Information Memorandums and financial models
• Have good knowledge of valuations principles and financial statements analysis
• Strong financial research and analytical skills
• Good communication skills - both written and verbal
• Have good knowledge of research databases like Capital IQ, OneSource, etc.
• Be proficient to search/source right information from relevant sources
• Manage own time to budgets and communicate progress against plan
• Actively promote the sharing of knowledge within the group
• Be organized and structured in the completion of tasks
• Contribute pro-actively to building team spirit

To qualify for the role, you must have

• MBA or PG Diploma in Finance or CFA - Level 3 passed or CA with 6 to 8 years of relevant experience

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Exposure to AI / Tech tools like Copilot, VBA, Power BI, Think-cell, SharePoint will be an added advantage
