Pay Range: $18 - $24 / hour base rate, depending on experience, training, and education; additional bonuses available

The Extrusion Saw Operator is responsible for cutting, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Utilizing machinery for the transfer and cutting of material.
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials or other stock items.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing station.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Retrieve material and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Safely execute loading and unloading in restricted spaces.
  • Must be able to apply mathematical concepts in order to: read a tape measure and calipers, comprehend decimals and fractions, among other calculations.
  • Must have working knowledge of using and understanding feeler gauges for the squaring blocks
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination
  • Fork-lift experience (preferred), or ability to become certified in fork-lift operation

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with use of a computer and applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Routinely performs repetitive movements such as bending, twisting, reaching, lifting and pulling
  • Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
  • Specific vision requirements include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Routinely work in noisy environment.
  • Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
