Global job position with an impact:

We are growing and expanding our Manufacturing Site in Mexico! In the job as Extrusion and Molding Engineer, you will have the opportunity to actively support the organization by meeting ensuring that our manufacturing site runs as needed to have the growth expected of the products we make in Mexico, excel in your own daily tasks and responsibilities, and experience a very varied working day in a dynamic.

Objective:
To provide engineering support extrusion and molding processes to ensure product quality and efficiency. You will be responsible for overseeing the operation of extrusion and molding equipment, troubleshooting issues, and implementing process improvements, production-pilot, transfer, installation, validation, start up, stabilization and documentation of new products and equipment integration into manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Set up and operate extrusion and molding machines to produce high-quality components.
  • Monitor production processes, adjusting as necessary to maintain product specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is properly maintained and safe to operate.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during production.
  • Collaborate with the production team to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, including optimizing machine settings and tooling design.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company quality standards.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and machine operators.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in extrusion and molding.
  • Conduct Engineering test evaluations such are: GR&R, SVs, Test Method, Criticality.
  • Ability to understand and utilize assembly documentation such as but not limited to the following: Schematics, BOM’s, Visuals, Debug, Testing tools and procedures.
  • Advise on scheduling and staffing needs.
  • Provides guidance, training, and leadership to new technicians or clerks.
  • Demonstrated success in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management.
  • Achieving results through other team members and suppliers. Drive for action and quality focused.
  • Must be a highly motivated, proactive, self-directed worker.

Authority:

  • Reject change orders thru the design change system.
  • Reject validation protocols, executed protocols that has not followed internal procedures or cGMP practices.

Performance Criteria:

  • Knowledge of NPI Process/Development (preferred).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general new product/manufacturing/quality procedures or medical regulations.
  • Ability to write Completion Reports or Engineering Studies, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret and manipulate various types of testing and CAD data.
  • Ability to write test and interpret CAD data.

Qualifications / Education:

  • An Associates of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience or equivalent knowledge and skills to perform the position responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of extrusion and molding processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Experience in the medical device industry or medical field.
  • Experience in GR&R, SVs, Eng. Studies, Protocols (Preferred).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in extrusion and molding operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • English language medium to advance.

Work Environment:

This is a manufacturing facility and as a result, employees have the potential to be exposed to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, machinery, vibration, or other workplace hazards controlled within compliance of current safety and health standards.
