Extractions Lab Technician

Location: Flagstaff, AZ

Job Type: Full-Time

Contract to Hire: 3 Month Contract to Perm Placement

Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Shift: Various shifts available

Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated Extractions Lab Technician to join our Laboratory Operations team. Under the supervision of a Laboratory Manager, this position is responsible for preparing biological specimens for analysis using confirmation instrument technology. The role involves handling urine and oral fluid specimens, performing sample preparation and extraction procedures, and maintaining accurate chain-of-custody documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and aliquot urine and oral fluid specimens for analysis.
• Perform specimen hydrolysis, solid-phase extraction, and liquid-liquid extraction according to laboratory SOPs.
• Prepare samples for LC/MS-MS analysis.
• Prepare and restock laboratory reagents and buffers.
• Assist with maintaining laboratory supply inventory.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate concerns when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate specimen preparation and chain-of-custody records.
• Follow laboratory procedures and quality standards.
• Perform other duties consistent with training, education, and abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field required, such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical/Pre-Med, Forensics, or Toxicology.
• Laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong alpha and numeric data-entry skills.
• Strong hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work in a high-volume laboratory environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
