Extra Help Medical Sonographer Technologists operate specialized equipment that transmits high frequency, ultrasound waves in order to produce images of the areas scanned. Sonographer will perform standard ultrasound scans of patients and perform other basic duties related to the examination.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administers level 1 ultrasound examinations
  • Assists with complex, OB scans including level 2, abnormal and U/S guidance for CVS and Amnio scans.
  • Prepares, updates and files records of scans performed with related materials; copies reports.
  • Consults with physicians regarding preliminary scan reports.
  • Ability to perform Gyne, SIS, and REI procedures scans.
  • Prepares patient for exam by explaining procedure, transferring patient to ultrasound table, scrubbing skin and applying gel, and positioning patient properly.
  • Observes and cares for patients throughout examinations to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and Clinic improvement projects within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Adjust or repair machine malfunctions, which can be remedied safely, either independently or under the advice of manufacturer’s service representative
  • Inventory stock of all supplies and equipment necessary for the uninterrupted operation, with proper attention to established procedures.
  • Orders supplies when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. Current/valid registration, certification or licensure in Medical Sonography, accreditation in sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS).
  3. Current American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
