Compensation

$30.00 Hourly

The Athletic Trainer – External Events provides on-site medical coverage for non-athletic external events hosted within UNF Athletics facilities. This position ensures participant safety, injury evaluation, emergency response, and medical oversight during camps, tournaments, community events, corporate functions, and other facility rentals.

Primary Responsibilities

Medical Coverage & Injury Care

  • Provide on-site athletic training services for external events

  • Evaluate and treat acute injuries and medical conditions

  • Administer first aid and emergency care as needed

  • Coordinate EMS activation when necessary

  • Document injuries and care provided during events

Risk Management & Emergency Preparedness

  • Verify medical supplies and equipment are stocked and available

  • Maintain AED readiness and emergency equipment accessibility

Required Qualifications

Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the Board of Certification (BOC)

Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida

Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification

Strong emergency response and clinical decision-making skills

Ability to work evenings and weekends

Work Schedule

  • Event-based scheduling
  • Hours vary depending on event duration and complexity

The individual must also assure that NCAA, Conference and UNF regulations are followed to the best of their knowledge and any violations thereof are reported to UNF Athletic Compliance.
