Extended Care Paramedic – Join Tāmaki Health

Tāmaki Health is seeking experienced Extended Care Paramedics (ECPs)—including paramedics currently working towards ECP endorsement—to join our network of clinics across Auckland. The primary location for this role is Local Doctors – Watford (Ōtara), reflecting current operational priorities, with additional opportunities available across other Auckland clinics.

Candidates are expected to be available for day and overnight shifts, including 12-hour shifts, to support our 24/7 operational model

We prefer applications from those seeking permanent roles, which support continuity of care and stability within our teams. Casual applicants are also welcome, provided they can commit to allocated training hours and guaranteed permanent shifts at our clinics.

In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, to deliver safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold substantial experience in Urgent Care, Rural Health, or Emergency Department settings

• Demonstrate confidence working autonomously within a collaborative clinical environment

• Possess strong clinical judgement, communication, and patient care skills

• Be adaptable and committed to delivering equitable, high-quality healthcare

• Paramedics working towards ECP endorsement are encouraged to apply

Mandatory Requirements

• Current registration and practising certificate as an Extended Care Paramedic in New Zealand, or be a Paramedic on the pathway to obtaining ECP endorsement

• Legal right to work in New Zealand

• Current APC, CPR, and indemnity cover as per New Zealand standards
