Salary Range: $17.32 - $21.27 Hourly
DEPARTMENT: Extend
REPORTS TO: Director of Extend Learning Services
COORDINATES WITH: Assistant Director and Extend Teachers
WORK HOURS: M-F 7:45 - 3:45
POSITION SUMMARY:
As an Extend Educational Assistant (EA), you will provide support to students with identified learning needs and Accommodation Plans under the direct supervision of the Director of Extend, working closely with the Extend Teachers. In this role, you will support students with established accommodation plans to promote student progress and foster an inclusive learning environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement accommodations under the direction of the Extend teacher.
- Provide one-on-one and/or small group instructional support in academic, social, and behavioral skills.
- Monitor and document intervention progress.
- Assist the Extend Teacher in the preparation of materials.
- Assist identified students in accessing classroom instruction, assignments, and assessments.
- Support students both in the classroom and in pull-out sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
- Regular and timely communication with the Extend Teacher.
- Perform school duties as assigned.
- Provide services to students across multiple grades and classrooms.
- Work with students in an engaging and productive manner.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma.
- Experience with children (school, church school, summer camp, child care, etc.).
- Display strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency (or desire to learn) in Google Workspace and Apps.
- Ability to take direction and willingness to learn and implement provided techniques
- Must be available and committed to working the full school year in accordance with the official school calendar. This includes maintaining a reliable weekly presence on all instructional days, professional development days, and any other scheduled school activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree in education, psychology, child development, or a related field.
- Relevant experience or strong understanding of strategies for working effectively with students with identified disabilities.
- Familiarity with evidence-based interventions and practices to support diverse learning needs.
- Experience working in a school setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
- Physical ability to assist with student mobility as needed.
- Ability to lift or manipulate light loads as needed and heavier loads on occasion.
