At Fulton Hogan, good work starts with good people. We’re seeking Expressions of Interest from people in Gore and the wider Southland area who are keen to be part of a team delivering essential road maintenance services to the local community.

This is not a confirmed vacancy ad. It’s an opportunity to register your interest ahead of a potential long-term maintenance contract. If the contract proceeds, we expect opportunities across a number of field-based roles, including Supervisor, Grader Driver, and Cyclic Crew.

We’re looking to connect with practical, reliable, hands-on people who take pride in quality work, value safety, and work well in a close-knit team. Whether your strength is leading crews, operating plant, or delivering day-to-day maintenance work on the network, this could be a great chance to put yourself forward early.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of road maintenance and related operational work across the local network.
  • Contribute to field-based activities such as inspections, routine maintenance, cyclic works, response work, and general road upkeep.
  • Lead crews, coordinate work, or operate plant and equipment depending on your experience and the role matched to you.
  • Carry out work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while following Fulton Hogan systems and client requirements.
  • Work as part of a team focused on keeping communities connected and the network safe for road users.

  • Experience in road maintenance, civil construction, plant operation, crew supervision, or related field-based work.
  • Relevant licences, endorsements, or operating capability suited to roles such as Supervisor, Grader Driver, or Cyclic Crew.
  • A strong safety-first approach and a commitment to quality outcomes for clients and communities.
  • A reliable, team-focused attitude, with the flexibility to adapt and pitch in where needed.
  • Motivation, initiative, and a willingness to learn and grow with the team.
