Purpose of the Job

As an Express Operator within our Operations - Express division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless coordination and execution of air freight consolidations. Your efforts will directly impact the timely and efficient movement of shipments, supporting our commitment to high-quality express delivery services.

By managing daily tasks such as shipment booking, monitoring, and liaising with key stakeholders, you will contribute to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This position demands precision, effective communication, and proactive problem-solving to navigate dynamic transportation environments.

Job Description

• Oversee and coordinate the end-to-end air freight consolidation process for express shipments, ensuring bookings are secured and shipments are uplifted according to schedule.
• Collaborate closely with carrier partners to forecast capacity, negotiate bookings, and optimize shipment plans in response to operational demands and volume fluctuations.
• Continuously monitor shipment progress and carrier schedules, swiftly identifying and escalating any potential delays or disruptions to minimize service impact.
• Maintain proactive communication with warehouse teams to ensure timely cutoffs and seamless handoffs, facilitating smooth daily consolidation operations.
• Respond promptly to operational inquiries, providing accurate updates on House Air Waybill (HAWB) statuses and shipment movements to internal teams and external partners.
• Ensure all shipment and booking data is meticulously captured and maintained in transport management systems to facilitate tracking and reporting.
• Manage competing priorities effectively, focusing on time-sensitive shipments to uphold high standards for service delivery within established deadlines.
• Support operational flexibility by providing coverage during peak periods or as business volumes fluctuate, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance consolidation efficiency, contributing to ongoing operational innovation and simplification initiatives.
• Work inclusively within cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration that breaks down silos and supports the company's growth mindset and external focus values.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

• Experience in air freight, logistics, supply chain, or a related transportation operations environment is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with air freight consolidation processes and HAWB documentation is preferred to ensure accurate shipment handling.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in documentation and system records.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with carriers, warehouse teams, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative operations team.
• Proficient in the use of email, Microsoft Office applications, and transportation/logistics management systems.
• Resilience and adaptability to quickly adjust to operational changes, capacity constraints, and evolving business needs.

Work Schedule & Availability

• Consistent punctuality and reliability to meet daily operational cutoffs.
• Willingness to work on Saturdays as operational requirements dictate to support business continuity.
• Flexible approach to work prioritization and scheduling, aligned with fluctuating shipment volumes and carrier capacities.
