We are looking to hire a compassionate and patient-centered Express Care Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for their Primary Care department. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, The Express Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant provides express care (same day and urgent care) primary care medical services in accordance with established medical protocols and standards of practice Schedule: Full-Time | 1.0 FTE What You’ll Do Key Responsibilities Under the supervision of the supervising or collaborating Physician, the Advanced Practice Provider will: Provide medical care to Same-Day and Walk-In patients Record medical histories, perform clinical exams, provide individualized patient instruction and follow-up care according to current standards of care Prescribe appropriate medications according to medical protocols and standard medical practice Provide medical services within the scope of practice established by licensure and/or certification Ensure follow-up appointments are scheduled with the health center’s Primary Care Providers Consult with the supervising/collaborating physician for patient evaluations as needed Complete timely EHR documentation and actions, including diagnoses, treatment plans, orders, and medications, in accordance with managed care and standard medical practice guidelines Address pending EHR PAQ items in a timely manner Provide medical services through the health center's telehealth platform Adhere to Quality Improvement guidelines Participate in monthly Provider Meetings as required Fulfill continuing education requirements Participate in provider recruitment activities Participate in activities that support the development of clinical support team members What We Are Looking For Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider training program Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Room settings Current California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license Current DEA Certification + Current CPR Certification Current Board Certification from an accredited APP certifying organization Additional Skills and Attributes Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups within the service area Ability to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, and bend to interact with patients Ability to write clinical notes, treatment plan comments, records, and reports Ability to communicate clearly, positively and professionally with all levels of staff Ability to work on a computer for extended periods What You Can Expect Work Environment Primarily a clinic setting in a small, shared office space Work requires periods of standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, turning, twisting, speaking, hearing, seeing, and using hands for fine motor tasks Compensation and Benefits: Competitive Hourly Pay Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Holiday Vacation and Sick Leave Employee Assistance Program Life Insurance (Basic + Voluntary) Tuition Reimbursement 403(b) Retirement plan with 6% match If you’re an experienced NP or PA who thrives in a fast-paced express care setting, this is an opportunity to make an immediate impact on patients’ health and well-being.
