An established agricultural biotechnology corporation is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Accountant to manage a dual-function role covering financial administration, customer service, and payroll support. This is a full-time, in-office position offered on a 7-month fixed-term contract starting in July 2026. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth processing of local and international orders while maintaining robust financial records and supporting internal payroll systems. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys a mix of technical accounting and operational coordination within a regulated, high-growth industry.
Order and Export Management:
Process local and international invoices, ensuring all export documentation and logistics are accurately handled.
Accounts Receivable:
Monitor outstanding accounts, conduct credit checks for new clients, and manage the collection process to ensure healthy cash flow.
Financial Processing:
Prepare pro forma invoices for COD clients, process sales credits for stock returns, and distribute monthly statements.
Banking and Journals:
Handle daily bank processing and capture journals for petty cash, vehicle fleets, and sales expenses.
Asset and Fleet Oversight:
Manage fleet cards and tracking systems for all company vehicles.
Forex Administration:
Maintain accurate daily and month-end currency exchange rates within the financial system.
Payroll and Timekeeping:
Generate payslips for production and security staff, reconcile weekly and monthly clocking data via EcoTime, and manage staff loan accounts.
Payments and Audit Support:
Load international payments onto the banking platform and provide essential documentation and support for the year-end audit process.
Education:
A completed BCom or equivalent tertiary financial qualification.
Experience:
Proven experience in a commercial accounting or financial administration role, preferably within a corporate environment.
Export Knowledge:
Practical understanding of export documentation and international logistics processes.
Payroll Exposure:
Familiarity with payroll processing and time-and-attendance systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in bank processing and the loading of international payments.
Experience working within the agricultural or biotech sectors.
Specific experience with the EcoTime system and ABSA Banking Integrator (BI).
