Export Planning Manager
Johannesburg, Gauteng
R800 000 – R900 000 per annum
Job Purpose
A leading FMCG/Food Service organisation is seeking an experienced Export Planning Manager to oversee the end-to-end Supply and Demand Planning function across local and international markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for forecasting, export coordination, inventory alignment, supplier management, and supply chain optimisation to ensure operational efficiency and service delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Demand & Supply Planning
Lead demand planning across local and international markets
Consolidate forecasts into annual rolling demand plans
Analyse forecasting inputs and adjust rolling forecasts to improve accuracy
Develop and distribute monthly consensus and production forecasts
Incorporate promotional activity, new product launches, market expansions, and discontinued items into planning processes
Monitor forecast accuracy and implement corrective actions where required
Support route-to-market planning and new market launches
Supply Planning & Inventory Management
Develop and maintain rolling supply forecasts with suppliers and stakeholders
Align demand and supply plans to ensure continuity of supply
Monitor inventory levels across local and international markets
Identify stock risks and implement corrective actions
Manage product phase-ins and phase-outs to minimise obsolescence
Ensure shelf-life and working capital considerations are incorporated into planning
Export & Distribution Coordination
Coordinate inbound supplier deliveries and outbound customer shipments
Ensure all export documentation is accurate and compliant
Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate delays or risks
Liaise between suppliers, distributors, and international markets to resolve operational issues
Ensure adherence to contractual SLAs and regulatory requirements
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
Manage supplier and carrier performance against agreed SLAs
Monitor delivery performance, fill rates, and forecast adherence
Resolve supplier delivery issues and escalations
Maintain strong working relationships with logistics partners and stakeholders
Participate in supplier review and performance management processes
Forecasting Governance & Continuous Improvement
Maintain forecasting systems and related planning tools
Review and improve forecasting processes and supply chain workflows
Generate weekly and monthly KPI reports
Investigate demand anomalies and operational variances
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function
Minimum Requirements
Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
Minimum 5 years' experience within a Supply Chain/Logistics environment
FMCG/Food Service industry experience is ESSENTIAL
2–3 years' experience in Export/Import operations
Experience dealing with international/global markets, including Middle East exposure
Experience in logistics and warehousing
Strong forecasting, inventory, and supply planning experience
Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and forecasting systems
Valid driver's licence
