In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with trade regulations and managing various aspects of global trade activities across EMEA. Your responsibilities will include export license applications, constructing trade control plans, end user undertaking reviews, general correspondence (GC) support, BIS SNAP-R license applications, denied party list reviews, ad hoc screening, technology transfer authorisation approvals, portable electronic device approvals, training, providing guidance on sanctions and embargoes and supporting the CoE. This role will report into the Export Control Manager for EMEA.
Responsibilities:
License Applications:
- Where possible, prepare and submit license applications to government authorities upon request by Eaton EMEA Business units, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the status of license applications and follow up with relevant authorities as needed to expedite the approval process.
Trade Control Plans:
- Develop and maintain trade control plans outlining procedures and guidelines for compliant trade activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of trade control plans with business objectives and regulatory requireyients.
End User Undertaking Reviews:
- Conduct reviews of end-user undertakings to verify the legitimacy and compliance of proposed transactions.
- Assess end-user documentation and communicate with stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
General Correspondence (GC) Support:
- Provide support in drafting and responding to general correspondence related to trade compliance matters.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with relevant parties regarding trade-related inquiries or requests.
BIS SNAP-R License Applications:
- Prepare and submit license applications through the BIS SNAP-R system for the export of controlled items.
- Liaise with BIS authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate the processing of license applications.
Classification
- Provide support to established TCO network for the classification of hardware, technology, and software.
Denied Party List Reviews and Ad Hoc Screening:
- Conduct regular reviews of denied party list hits to screen potential business partners and customers.
- Perform ad hoc screening of parties involved in trade transactions to identify any red flags or compliance risks.
Technology Transfer Authorization Approvals:
- Review and approve technology transfer authorisations in accordance with regulatory requirements and GTM EMEA Procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for technology transfer activities.
Portable Electronic Device Approvals:
- Evaluate requests for the use of portable electronic devices in trade activities and approve or deny requests based on compliance considerations and GTM EMEA procedures.
Training and Guidance:
- Provide training and guidance to employees on trade compliance regulations, procedures, and best practices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on sanctions, embargoes, and other trade-related matters, offering advice and recommendations as needed.
Bachelor's degree in:
or over 7 years industry experience - including demonstratable continious professional development within the export compliance industry in leading and develping export compliance systems.
