Overview

The Food Runner/Expo plays a vital role in restaurant operations by ensuring the accurate, timely, and professional delivery of food from the kitchen to guests. This position acts as a key link between the kitchen and front-of-house staff, helping maintain quality standards, efficient service, and overall guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Delivery: Deliver food orders quickly and accurately to the correct tables while maintaining proper temperature and presentation standards.
• Quality Control: Verify each dish against order tickets, ensuring accuracy, proper garnishing, portioning, and overall plate presentation before leaving the kitchen.
• Communication: Serve as a liaison between kitchen and service staff, clearly communicating special requests, dietary restrictions, and order modifications.
• Table Support: Assist in setting and maintaining tables, including providing utensils, napkins, and share plates; refill beverages and help clear dishes as needed.
• Kitchen Assistance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of expo and kitchen stations; assist with polishing utensils and completing side work.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with servers, bartenders, bussers, and management to ensure smooth, coordinated service.
• Guest Interaction: Provide friendly, professional service by responding to guest needs and contributing to a positive dining experience.
