The Role

We are seeking an experienced Explosive Ordnance Engineer (DSS Level 3 ) to support the delivery of critical Defence capability programs focused on guided weapons and explosive ordnance. Based in Canberra, this position offers the opportunity to work within a high-performing project environment supporting nationally significant acquisition, testing and sustainment activities. Working across complex Defence programs, you will provide specialist engineering and project management support, contributing to the planning, coordination and execution of test and trial activities while supporting the successful delivery of capability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination and execution of test and trial activities across Defence
    capability programs.
  • Develop and maintain trial documentation, schedules, plans and associated project artefacts.
  • Coordinate governance activities and assist with trial reviews, reporting and performance monitoring.
  • Contribute to project scheduling, work breakdown structures and project management documentation.
  • Assist with logistics coordination, resource planning and integration activities.
  • Support risk, issue and opportunity management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical engineering advice and specialist support across capability acquisition and sustainment activities.
  • Support test and evaluation activities, including preparation of required documentation, briefings and
    project records.
  • Contribute to the development of testing and verification plans supporting capability delivery outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience supporting complex Defence capability acquisition or sustainment programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering, explosives ordnance, test and evaluation, or project management environments.
  • Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, governance and risk management principles.
  • Experience coordinating technical documentation, project artefacts and delivery activities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams supporting Defence capability outcomes.
  • Current NV1 Security Clearance with the ability to maintain and upgrade clearance requirements if required.

Additional Information

  • Location: Canberra, ACT onsite
  • This role is primarily based onsite within a Defence environment, with occasional travel required.
  • Candidates from other locations may be considered for the right experience and capability.
  • Experience supporting guided weapons, explosive ordnance, testing and evaluation, or complex Defence materiel programs will be highly regarded
