Key Responsibilities:

I. Strategic Safety Leadership

1. Safety Culture System Management & Policy: Direct and control the execution of Corporate Safety Programs to safeguard personnel and company assets across all exploration sites. Supervise the implementation of updated Safety Policies, ensuring all stakeholders (employees and contractors) are aligned with a "Zero LTI" mindset.

2. Talent Development: Oversee safety induction, orientation, and specialized training for new hires, ensuring they are prepared for the risks of field work.

II. Operational Risk & Extreme Environments

4. Drilling Operations Oversight: Manage safety protocols and contractor audits specifically for Diamond (DDH) and Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling projects in Chile and Argentina.

5. Critical Logistics & Aviation: Manage safety standards and protocols and contractor audits for helicopter operations (personnel transport/slings) and defensive drive/off-road vehicle fleet management in desert and mountain terrains.

6. Technical Advisory: Partner with procurement and engineering to define technical specifications for new facilities, machinery, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure legal and corporate compliance.

III. Compliance, Auditing & Reporting

7. Regulatory Liaison: Ensure strict adherence to local labor laws (Chile/Argentina) and international mining safety standards.

8. Internal Audit Cycle: Plan and execute follow-up audits to verify risk prevention management and minimize incident rates.

9. Committee Leadership: Lead Safety Committee inspections and meetings, ensuring all legal and internal reporting requirements are met.

10. Data Analysis & KPI Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports on accident statistics, safety indices, and occupational health trends to implement data-driven corrective actions.

IV. Process Improvement & Accountability

11. SWP Development: Management, reviewing and draft and continuously improve Standard Work Procedures (SWPs)

12. Corporate Alignment: Ensure full compliance with Corporate Policies, Internal Work Regulations, and any other duties assigned by senior leadership to meet the mission of the position.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years in Mining Safety, specifically within Greenfield/Brownfield Exploration.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of drilling rig safety, helicopter sling operations, and high-altitude logistics.

  • Language: Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish (Essential).Skills: Expert 4x4 off-road driving and contractor management.
