Vulcan Energie Ressourcen GmbH is an innovative, fast-growing company in the field of sustainable lithium extraction and renewable energies. With our lithium plant, we are making a decisive contribution to the decarbonization of European industry and to securing a sustainable supply of lithium in Europe.   
 
We are looking for you to join our growing team in Karlsruhe as a full-time (40 hours per week) as -  Geoscientist (m/f/d)

Your mission

  • You assess, evaluate, integrate, source and QA/QC legacy and newly acquired geological and geophysical data (well, seismic) into a centralized database. 
  • You perform expert-level seismic interpretation and static modelling in structurally complex settings to assess geothermal and lithium resources. 
  • You define exploration needs and develop asset-specific exploration and appraisal programs. 
  • You contribute to portfolio ranking and risking, influencing strategy for systematic resource maturation in a fast‑paced business environment. 
  • You support geophysical acquisition programs and prepare initial well plans in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • You deliver industry‑standard technical products (risk registers, CRS maps, well‑failure analyses, PFS/DFS) as robust decision bases. 

Your profile

  • You have a university degree or PhD in geosciences or a related discipline. 
  • You bring at least 5–8 years of professional experience in exploration and subsurface modelling for fluid mining projects. 
  • You demonstrate high proficiency in industry‑standard subsurface software such as Petrel, GIS and WellCAD. 
  • You have basic experience in project management and working within multidisciplinary project teams. 
  • You collaborate effectively as a team player, actively contributing technical expertise to support shared objectives. 
  • You communicate complex technical topics clearly to internal and external stakeholders through strong presentation and discussion skills. 
  • You show a high level of motivation, initiative, reliability and responsibility, while actively aligning technical work across disciplines and teams.
