About the Position

We are building a next‑generation cloud security platform used at scale across our customer environments. As part of this mission, we are expanding our Vulnerability Management (VM) team responsible for securing cloud, Kubernetes, and containerized infrastructure.

As a Senior/Lead ServiceNow Plugin Developer, you will architect, design, and oversee the development of enterprise-grade ServiceNow Store applications These apps must meet stringent certification requirements for security, performance, scalability, and platform compatibility as mandated by the ServiceNow Store review process.

In this role, you will guide technical strategy, enforce development best practices, mentor engineers, and ensure the delivery of robust, market‑ready Store apps in security domain for automating cross‑enterprise workflows and integrating ServiceNow with external systems.

Working from Aqua Hyderabad office a minimum of 4 days per week (Mon-Thu)

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead end-to-end architecture and development of scoped ServiceNow applications designed for Store certification.
• Define coding standards, design patterns, and platform best practices, ensuring upgrade‑safe and scalable solutions.

Application & Platform Engineering

• Architect complex workflows using Flow Designer, Script Includes, Business Rules, and UI components.
• Ensure applications align with Now Platform expectations for multi‑domain workflow automation.
• SecOps experience - container vuln/ application vulnerability / scoped application development

Store Certification & Compliance

• Ensure all applications meet ServiceNow Store certification criteria around:
• Security
• Performance
• Compatibility
• Guide teams through Store submission workflows, documentation standards, demo data preparation, and version compliance.

Quality Engineering

• Oversee automated test suites to ensure release stability.
• Implement performance tuning, security controls, and integration validation.
• Ensure seamless “one‑click install and update” experiences expected of Store apps.

Mentorship & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Mentor junior and mid‑level ServiceNow developers.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Security, QA, and UX teams.
• Engage with customers, architects, and partners to refine requirements and future app roadmap.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical

• 7–10+ years ServiceNow development; 3+ years building scoped applications.
• Deep expertise in:
• JavaScript (server & client)
• Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts
• Flow Designer, IntegrationHub
• App Engine Studio & Scoped App Design
• Proven experience architecting enterprise workflow automation across ITSM, SecOps, or ITOM domains—the same categories used by Store apps.
• Strong experience building secure and scalable integrations with REST/SOAP APIs and external enterprise platforms.

Store‑Specific

• Experience developing or leading the creation of ServiceNow Store apps or enterprise‑grade plugins.
• Knowledge of Store certification expectations around performance, security, and compatibility.

Leadership

• Ability to drive architectural decisions, review complex designs, and set team-wide engineering standards.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certifications:
• CSA, CAD, CIS (ITSM / SecOps / HR), App Engine certifications
• Experience in product development
• Experience leading distributed engineering teams
• Familiarity with CI/CD for ServiceNow applications
