What is Expert Software Engineer?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Expert Software Engineer with strong expertise in Data Engineering, Big Data platforms, and large-scale ETL ecosystems, particularly within Fraud Management, Billing, and Revenue Assurance domains.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Hadoop, Oracle, Linux environments, automation scripting, and enterprise-grade data processing systems, and will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining high-performance data pipelines and scalable data platforms that support mission-critical business operations. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering, operations, analytics, and business teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality data solutions while continuously enhancing system performance, automation, monitoring, scalability, and operational efficiency.
This role reports to Manager Assurance and Billing.
What does Expert Software Engineer do?
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows for large-scale data ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and processing across staging and production environments.
· Administer and optimize big data platforms and storage systems, including Hadoop ecosystems, partitioning strategies, retention management, deduplication, and archival processes.
· Develop and maintain automation, monitoring, and alerting solutions for ETL jobs, data loading activities, server health, disk utilization, and operational workflows.
· Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot data processing and system-level issues, resolve data discrepancies, and ensure high availability, reliability, and operational stability.
· Manage Linux-based environments, file systems, logging, traceability, and data governance processes while applying ASN.1 and related data encoding/decoding standards where required.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions, continuously improve platform performance and scalability, and maintain technical and operational documentation.
Requirements
· 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Big Data platforms, or related enterprise data environments.
· Strong expertise in Hadoop ecosystem, Oracle databases, ETL frameworks, Linux server administration, and distributed data processing systems.
· Proven experience designing and managing enterprise-scale data pipelines along with workflow orchestration, monitoring frameworks, and data quality processes.
· Strong scripting and automation skills using Shell scripting, Python, or similar technologies with a focus on operational excellence and reliability.
· Deep understanding of ASN.1 and telecom data domains including Fraud Management, Billing, and Revenue Assurance.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to resolve complex production issues and work effectively across cross-functional teams.
· Experience with enterprise telecom data environments and large-scale distributed systems.
· Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and operational analytics.
· Knowledge of scheduling and orchestration tools such as Oozie, Airflow, or Control-M.
· Familiarity with production support processes, SLA management, and incident handling.
Understanding of scalable architecture patterns and performance optimization techniques for big data systems.
