Data & Analytics is hiring Senior Platform Engineer! You build and operate ING’s self‑service analytics and AI platform on Google Cloud. The goal is to enable data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to develop, train, deploy and operate AI and data workloads at scale, securely and in a fully automated way.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and operate the GCP‑based analytics and AI platform used by ING tenants.
Build self‑service capabilities for project onboarding, environment provisioning, and model execution (Exploration and Execution).
Deliver platform features using managed GCP services in support of AI/ML workloads, including BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataproc, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, and GKE.
Implement infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform.
Build, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for reliable AI/ML workloads.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 7 years of hands‑on technical engineering experience in cloud, platform engineering, or data/AI infrastructure.
GCP certification, minimum Associate level.
Strong hands‑on experience with Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, GKE.
Proficiency in Python or Golang.
Strong IaC mindset using Terraform.
Experience with containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
CI/CD knowledge: Azure DevOps, pipelines and automation.
Solid understanding of monitoring and logging stacks.
Ability to clearly communicate and present solutions to technical stakeholders, including ML engineers, data scientists, and platform teams.
Preferred Profile
Broad experience building data or AI platform components using managed Google Cloud Services.
Comfortable working in an engineering‑heavy environment supporting ML engineers, data scientists, and product teams.
Strong automation mindset; everything is code
