Job Title: Principal AI Engineer / AI Engineering Lead (Finance Transformation)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced and hands-on AI Engineering Lead to join our Finance Digital Transformation team. In this role, you will drive the technical vision and delivery of multiple AI initiatives designed to modernize our financial systems and processes. This is a "player-coach" role—you will lead projects and guide teams, but you will also roll up your sleeves to write code, build AI architectures, and solve complex technical problems.

What You Will Do

• Lead AI Initiatives: Manage and deliver multiple AI projects at the same time, overseeing both new development and the ongoing support of existing applications.
• Hands-On Development: Actively write clean, scalable code and build robust AI models, agents, and backend services.
• Finance Transformation: Partner with finance business leaders to identify ways AI can automate workflows, improve financial reporting, and drive our digital transformation goals.
• System Architecture: Design the technical architecture for highly secure, scalable, and reliable AI solutions tailored for financial data.
• Production Ownership: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI products, ensuring they are deployed smoothly and supported effectively in production.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Guide, mentor, and grow a team of developers and support engineers, setting high standards for coding and platform reliability.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 15+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a strong, recent focus on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cloud architecture.
• Programming Mastery: Expert-level coding skills, primarily in Python (knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or Java is a strong plus), with a deep understanding of writing production-grade code.
• AI & Cloud Expertise: Strong hands-on experience building and deploying generative AI, LLMs, or machine learning models on enterprise cloud platforms (such as GCP/Vertex AI, AWS, or Azure).
• Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading technical teams, managing multiple project deliverables, and bridging the gap between development and production support.
• Domain Knowledge: Previous experience working on financial systems, FinTech, or large-scale digital transformation projects within a corporate finance department.
• Communication: The ability to translate complex AI and technical concepts into simple terms for non-technical finance executives and stakeholders.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

• Strong understanding of MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with financial data security, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
