Job Level: Individual Contributor
Business Unit: Strategy & Growth
Work Type: Hybrid
Job Location: Oakland
The Clean Energy Transportation (CET) group is focused on accelerating the adoption of clean vehicles in California and has an ambitious goal of electrifying 3 million vehicles by 2030. CET leads a ~$0.6B portfolio of transportation electrification (TE) programs to increase the adoption of clean vehicles in California as we work to address one of the largest contributors to climate change – and we need a motivated, organized strategic thinker to help us expand this portfolio. We serve PG&E’s customers by deploying electric vehicle programs to increase access to charging infrastructure, reduce total cost of electric vehicle ownership, educating our customers and pursuing innovative strategies to unlock additional benefits to EV drivers and the grid.
PG&E believes that if properly managed, EVs can provide a quadruple value stack of reliability, resiliency, affordability, and lower GHG emissions for the grid and our customers. The first step in achieving that vision is facilitating the transition to electric vehicles for our customers by simplifying the process, educating customers on the benefits of EVs, and connecting customers to available resources. CET’s EV Customer Programs team manages a robust portfolio of EV programs and finds solutions to customer barriers to EV adoption.
The EV Advisor role is focused on guiding customers through their transportation electrification (TE) journey and is a centralized point of contact within PG&E. EV Advisors cover a wide breadth of TE topics and serve as subject matter experts that facilitate commercial customer transitions to electric vehicles. This role directly supports the EV Advisory Services program.
CET’s EV Advisory Services program provides customers with information and resources related to site selection, fleet electrification planning, rate selection, load management, vehicle to grid integrations, and everything in between. The program relies heavily on internal cross collaboration efforts with BES, Service Planning and Design, Distribution Planning, Vehicle to Grid Implementation, Marketing, and IT.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, has subject matter expertise in transportation electrification and the role of the utility within that process, is experienced with working with commercial customers, is enthusiastic about finding solutions for day-to-day problems, and is a customer champion.
The role is classified as hybrid (0-3 days per week in office), working primarily from your remote office and in-person in the Oakland General Office to attend team meetings or as business needs require. The role will also require significant travel throughout PG&E’s service territory to attend events and engage with stakeholders in person.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the range. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area Minimum: $122,000.00
Bay Area Midpoint: $158,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $194,000.00
The successful candidate will directly support PG&E’s EV Advisory Services programs and manage a queue of approximately 30-40 customers annually. Daily interaction will be with customers, team members, direct leadership, internal partners, and contracted external vendors. Strong project management and customer relationship building is critical to achieving team goals and successfully supporting customers through their electrification journeys.
