Expert Data Engineer, NAM, Copenhagen (permanent position)

Would you like to get in on the ground floor of building a new data platform? We are now looking for an Expert Data Engineer to accelerate our shift towards a Snowflake-based data platform.

Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is the centre of investment management in the Nordea Group and in the Asset & Wealth Management division. NAM is the largest asset manager in the Nordics with the vision of being a leading European Asset Manager. We want to do this by delivering returns with responsibility. We meet customer demands and guide our customers in the right direction in asset selection while ensuring prudent ESG practices. NAM has around 900 employees and more than 475 Nordic and international institutional clients.

About this opportunity

Welcome to the Products & FA Engineering team. We add value by automating and implementing fund accounting (FA) processes, reporting and business analytics. As an Expert Data Engineer, you’ll play a valuable role in building vital data pipelines and tooling to futureproof our Fund Accounting business domain.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving requirement gathering and finding the right problems to solve
  • Working across teams team to share knowledge, participate in communities and getting an outside in perspective on architectural decisions
  • Developing the business domain part of our NAM Data Platform, adding new data sources and transformations in response to new business requirements
  • Continually improving the platform, adopting new technologies and patterns as they become available
  • Building internal tooling to support NAM’s migration into the NAM data platform
  • Continue migrating the existing platform into our Lakehouse
  • Mentoring across the cross-functional team and in the competence team
  • Adopting our Tech Lead role for the business domain and engage in technology ADRs, tech standards and implementation guidelines

You’ll join a motivated, international, agile, cross-functional and end-to-end team . The role is based in Copenhagen.

Your experience and background:

  • Extensive experience working with Python in a data engineering capacity
  • Extensive experience with SQL

In addition it is preferable if you have experience in any of the following:

  • Building and deploying containerised applications on Kubernetes
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with DBT
  • Building DAGs with Apache Airflow
  • AWS or other public cloud experience
  • Infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform
  • Experience working in end-to-end delivery teams
  • Experience with a Data Mesh strategy
