Key Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll be an important part of the client and patient experience. Responsibilities include:

Welcome clients and pets warmly and professionally
- Answer multi-line phones, schedule appointments, and manage client communications
- Complete patient check-in and check-out, prepare invoices, and process payments
- Maintain accurate medical records, client information, and patient information in veterinary practice software
- Coordinate with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and medical team members to maintain efficient patient flow
- Provide client education regarding hospital services, wellness care, preventative care, and general pet health
- Respond to client questions and concerns with professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service
- Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and efficient veterinary front desk
- Participate in rotating weekend shifts
Brookhaven Animal Hospital is closed on all major federal holidays, and holiday pay is available.
Veterinary Receptionist Qualifications
We’re looking for a reliable, organized, and compassionate veterinary receptionist who enjoys working with both people and pets.
Required:
- 1+ year of veterinary receptionist, veterinary CSR, veterinary client service, or veterinary front desk experience
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital, animal hospital, veterinary clinic, or medical office
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy, high-volume environment
- Professional, positive, and team-oriented approach
- Schedule flexibility, including rotating weekend shifts
Preferred:
- Experience with veterinary practice management software such as Cornerstone, AVImark, or similar systems
- Previous experience with appointment scheduling, veterinary medical records, payments, client education, and veterinary hospital operations
Compensation and Benefits
Starting pay: $16+ per hour, based on experience
