Job Description

East YMCA - Experienced Swim Instructor

$18-$21.50/hour starting wage depending on experience and certifications

The East YMCA is looking for dedicated, caring swim instructors to provide safe and motivating aquatic instruction! Our instructors facilitate socialization, participation, and interaction of all participants in a fun and positive environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be 16 years of age.

  • Strong swim skills and basic knowledge of all swim strokes: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly with an understanding of how to teach those skills to others.

  • Must have experience teaching swim lessons

  • Current Lifeguard certification and YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent preferred (not required)

  • Pay scale depends on experience and certification
