About the Roles

BHP Olympic Dam Mine Surface Production are now recruiting for experienced Operators to coming join our expanding Surface mining operations, servicing Olympic Dam Mines Back fill department CAF (Cement Aggregate Fill) Operations and Quarry. Mine Surface Production are seeking experienced operators with transferrable skills OR extensive experience in one or more of the following industries:

  • Surface Mining in Production – including operations of articulated Haul Trucks, Loaders, Graders and Diggers
  • Experience driving HC or MC Semi-trailers
  • Extensive experience in the below sectors:
    Surface Mining
    Civil
    Quarry

Please note: These roles will be available from July 2026 onwards.

These positions are available as FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) from Adelaide, DIDO (Drive-In, Drive-Out), BIBO (Bus-In, Bus-Out), or Residential in Roxby Downs, where a shuttle bus service is provided.

About You

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Hold of a valid driver’s license class HR and above preferred
  • Safe Operator committed to personal safety and the safety of others
  • Team players who can also work independently
  • Displays a strong work ethic, self-motivated, reliable, eager to learn and forge a career in mining in the long term
  • Able to work to deadlines and remain effective under pressure.
  • Effective listeners with well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Competent reading and writing skills.
  • Ready to embrace the challenges of a tough but rewarding underground environment
  • Positively shape culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values
