Job Description

WirelessCar's Journey

WirelessCar empowers the future of mobility by connecting vehicles and delivering cutting-edge digital services. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Sweden, we have a strong global presence with offices in the U.S., China, Germany, India, and Japan, offering a truly global workplace with exciting opportunities for career growth. Owned by Volkswagen Group, today we connect over 18 million vehicles across 100+ countries and partner with leading OEMs, including Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen Group, Nissan, and Subaru. Joining us means contributing to the next generation of sustainable, connected mobility solutions that make a real impact on society.

Your Role

We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to join our Customer Experience (CX) Toolkit team in India. In this role, you will help build and operate internal tools and platforms that improve the efficiency of our Support, Operations, SRE, and DevOps teams. You will work closely with engineers across WirelessCar to create reliable, scalable, and easy-to-use solutions that strengthen operational excellence and improve the everyday experience of our developers and SREs. You will become part of a collaborative DevOps team where engineers take end-to-end ownership of the services they build, from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer in the CX Toolkit team, you will contribute both technically and operationally across several areas. Here's what you'll be responsible for:

  • Design, develop, and maintain internal tools and services used by SREs, support teams, and developers across WirelessCar.

  • Build reliable backend services and integrations using modern programming languages, including Go.

  • Develop standardized operational capabilities that can be reused across services and solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with SRE teams and developers to identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements.

  • Implement and maintain APIs, integrations, and automation workflows that improve operational efficiency.

  • Participate in the full DevOps lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.

  • Work with observability platforms, dashboards, alerts, logs, and metrics to improve system visibility and reliability.

  • Contribute to continuous improvements in tooling, processes, and developer experience.

About the Team and Context

Customer Experience (CX) plays a critical role in ensuring that incidents across WirelessCar deliveries are proactively prevented, quickly detected, effectively communicated, and efficiently resolved. The CX Toolkit team focuses on developing and operating internal tooling that supports both CX SRE teams and developers across WirelessCar deliveries. The team also develops common operational capabilities and collaborates closely with enabling teams to increase engineering productivity and operational excellence. The team follows DevOps principles, meaning the same engineers who build services are also responsible for operating and supporting them in production. This creates strong ownership, faster feedback loops, and a deep understanding of how solutions perform in real-world environments. As part of this ownership model, team members may occasionally be contacted outside normal working hours when their expertise is needed to help resolve production incidents.

We Offer You

  • A people-focused company with healthy work-life balance and a hybrid work model.

  • A flat organizational culture grounded in Nordic leadership values: trust, openness, and autonomy.

  • A high-tech environment working with connected vehicle services and digital mobility solutions.

  • A global workplace with opportunities for career growth and international collaboration.

  • The opportunity to build tools and platforms that impact engineering teams across the organization.

  • Strong DevOps culture with end-to-end ownership and continuous learning.

  • A personal tech fund where you choose the tools you prefer.

We Believe That You Bring

You are a curious, collaborative, and self-driven engineer who enjoys solving real operational challenges through technology. You thrive in environments where ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement are highly valued, and you are motivated by creating solutions that make others more effective. Additionally, we expect you to have:

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in backend software development.

  • Experience with any 2 programming languages preferably Java/Python/Golang/any other, used professionally (including scripting languages).

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.

  • Understanding of observability concepts such as metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting.

  • Experience working in OpenTelemetry, Grafana.

  • Experience working with APIs and system integrations.

  • Experience working in DevOps environments where developers support and operate services in production.

  • Basic knowledge of containerization and related tooling.

Domain & Collaboration Skills

  • A service-oriented mindset and passion for building tools that help others succeed.

  • Ability to translate operational needs into practical technical solutions.

  • Interest in operational excellence, automation, and reliability engineering.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and locations.

Personal Qualities

  • A true team player who enjoys solving problems together.

  • Curious and eager to learn new technologies and ways of working.

  • Comfortable taking ownership and driving improvements from idea to implementation.

  • Passionate about improving developer experience and operational efficiency.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing high-reliability or mission-critical systems.

  • Experience working in Nordic or European organizations.

  • Experience working with Golang.

  • Open-source contributions or personal software projects.

  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.

  • Experience building internal developer platforms or operational tooling.

  • Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and container orchestration platforms.

  • Experience supporting globally distributed engineering teams.
