We are looking for a passionate and experienced Machine Learning Researcher to join our Technology Division, preferably someone with a strong foundation in machine learning, whether built through academic research, personal projects, or industry experience.
While this role is intended forhighlyskilledresearchers, we also welcome exceptionally talented individuals who may not have extensive work experiencebutdemonstratedeep understanding, curiosity, and a strong drive to advance the field.
To be clear from the start: we are not just another company jumping on the current machine learning/artificial intelligence hype. Our experts have been working with machine learning for more than 20 years, with neural networks making their first appearance in our products back in 1998.
What doesworkingas aMachine Learning Researcher entail?
AMachine Learning Researcheris responsible forexploring and proposingnovel approaches to leverage data for threat detection. The role involves designing and executing experiments, analyzing results, anddeterminingthe next steps in the development of advanced machine learning models
The main project builds on heuristic correlations of behavioral data, which aresubsequentlyevaluated usingcutting-edgemachine learning models. The position requires a strong experimental mindset, adaptability to evolving data, and a focus on delivering robust and effective solutions.
While the primary focus is on research, the position also includes aspects of ML-Ops, such as deploying, monitoring, and refining models in production, which can be expanded depending on the candidate’s interests andexpertise
Where does theMachine Learning Researcher work?
The position is part of the Technology Division located in Bratislava.The team works extensively with behavioral data stored in a large-scale big data infrastructure. There are multiple specialized groups within the team: some focus on heuristic modeling to correlate behavioralsignals,others are dedicated to threat simulation and synthetic data generation.
The group for which this position is openis responsible fordeveloping and improving machine learning models and solutions.
These groups collaborate closely, sharingexpertiseand findings across domains to achieve common goals. In addition to internal collaboration, the team works closely with other departments involved in data collection, manual incidentevaluationand handling, as well as with software development teams. This cross-functional cooperation ensures that research efforts are grounded in real-world needs and can be effectively translated into impactful, production-ready solutions.

Are you cut out for the job?
Since this is a dedicated research (or applied research) position, we are primarily looking for candidates with a university education,Master’sor higher degree, in a machine learning-related field. Candidates with backgrounds in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Mining, or Statistics are welcome, ideally withpreviouswork in the field
The candidate should be proficient enough in programming to create prototypes in Python. Experience with Big Data technologies and at least a basic understanding of computer/network security are considered advantages. Andlast but not least, to keep pace with the bad guys, a healthy appetite for continuous learning is essential.

Basic wage component (brutto): from 3000 EUR
* The final basic wage component can be increased accordingly to individual skills and experience of the selected candidate.
* Performance bonus 2 times per year up to 10% of the basic salary paid for the evaluation period(usually 6 months).
