Dedicated to sustainable employment, we emphasize career opportunities and empowerment for Indigenous communities across Canada. Join us and contribute to building a more inclusive future.

The Role

GrizzlyTrek is seeking experienced floorhands to join our valued client's team on drilling and service rig operations, with crews based out of Grande Prairie, Alberta. These are full-time positions on a 21 days on, 3 days off rotation, with hotel and camp accommodations provided while you are working.
Your rate within the $35.00 to $37.00 per hour range reflects your experience and your tickets. Candidates must currently reside in Alberta. SAGD experience is a strong asset.

What You'll Do
  • Work the rig floor: tripping pipe, making and breaking connections, handling tongs and slips
  • Rig up and rig down for moves between locations
  • Operate and maintain the tools and equipment tied to the rig floor
  • Complete pre-shift inspections, hazard assessments and safety meetings before work starts
  • Keep the lease, floor and equipment clean, organized and service ready
  • Follow site specific safety procedures, permits, and lockout requirements
  • Report equipment issues, near misses and incidents through the correct channels
  • Work as part of a crew through a full 21 day hitch in all weather conditions
What You Bring
  • Proven rig experience as a Floorhand
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 licence with air brake endorsement (5Q) at minimum
  • Current residency in Alberta
  • Valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, and CSTS or equivalent site tickets
  • Current driver's abstract in good standing
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug test
  • Available to commit to a full 21 and 3 rotation away from home
  • Physically able to perform heavy rig work in all weather and on night shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Class 1 or Class 3 licence with air brake endorsement
  • SAGD experience
  • Previous experience on a travelling crew or extended rotation
Work Environment

Crews travel to the rig together, work the full hitch, and rotate out together. Accommodation is a hotel or a camp depending on the location and is provided at no cost to you. This is away from home rotation work in all weather conditions, not local day work.

What We Offer
  • Hotel and camp accommodations provided while on rotation
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications
  • Opportunities for overtime based on operational requirements
  • Life insurance: $100,000 employee / $10,000 spouse / $5,000 per child
  • AD&D insurance with critical illness and cancer coverage
  • Extended health care: drugs, hospital, hearing, orthotics, nursing
  • Paramedical services: chiro, physio, massage, mental health (annual coverage)
  • Vision care: glasses, contacts, laser surgery, and exams
  • Dental care: 80% basic ($2,500), 50% major ($2,500), $2,500 ortho for children
  • Travel insurance: up to $5,000,000 per incident (trips up to 90 days)
  • Ongoing training and career development support
