Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high‑performance DSP software, including highly efficient kernels for different applications, such as communication algorithms and machine learning inference workloads

  • Implement optimized, low‑level DSP solutions with a strong focus on performance, accuracy, and real‑time constraints

  • Deliver high‑quality, efficient, and well‑tested code according to project schedules

  • Collaborate closely with team members and peer teams across multiple engineering disciplines

Required Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of proven experience in DSP programming and development, including assembly, SIMD / vector processing, and real‑time embedded software. More experience – advantage.

  • Develop and leverage profiling and analysis tools to optimize performance, memory utilization, and power efficiency

  • Familiarity with fixed-point arithmetic

  • Thorough background in software and/or firmware engineering

  • Strong analytical skills, technical leadership, creativity, agility, and ability to solve complex technical problems

  • Deep understanding of DSP/GPU and/or CPU architectures

  • Experience in development of digital communication systems – advantage

  • Good understanding of machine learning and neural network graphs - advantage

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work closely within a team environment

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

  • Demonstrated ownership and commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced engineering environment

Education Requirements

  • B.Sc in Electrical Engineering (preferred, other Engineering disciplines may be considered)

  • Advanced academic degree (M.Sc / Ph.D) – advantage

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems.

• 1+ year of applicable wireless, semiconductor and/or embedded software industry experience.

• 6+ months of WWAN modem development specific experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Applies advanced modem knowledge (e.g., RF, baseband signal processing, computer architecture, communication protocols, VLSI) and design methodology for one area within modem hardware, systems, or firmware to execute modem assignments; participates in and shares own perspective within domain of modem subject matter expertise in design reviews and project meetings.
• Develops models, code, and/or simulations to test accuracy and reliability of design for less well-defined component under some supervision; identifies potential tradeoffs and makes recommendations to resolve issues; collaborates with cross-functional peers to design products that meet customer requirements and standards.
• Develops test environment and test cases to test/verify design for a specific component; works with peers to evaluate the impact of results and validate modem against specifications; defines the test plan.
• Helps resolve issues during implementation and commercialization with some guidance.
• Writes detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions to guide users and/or customers to use or implement output.

Level of Responsibility:
• Working under some supervision.
• Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with limited impact; impact of decisions is readily apparent; errors made typically only impact timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct).
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question; may require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact, and diplomacy, etc.
• Working within prescribed budget and resources.
• Completing most tasks with multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.
• Exercising creativity to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.
• Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.
• May be solicited during strategic planning period.

The responsibilities of this role do not include:
• Supervising direct reports.
• Influence over key organizational decisions.
