At Allied Dental Cockburn, we believe people do their best work when they genuinely enjoy coming to work each day. We’ve worked hard to create a positive, supportive and enjoyable workplace culture where people help one another, communicate well, and feel valued as part of the team.

We are currently hiring for two positions within our practice:

Dental Assistant (4 Days Per Week)
Monday to Thursday, including one late evening until 7:30pm

Dental Receptionist (Part-Time)
Wednesdays and Fridays

If you are someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a supportive team environment, and naturally brings a “How can I help?” attitude to work each day, we would love to hear from you.

Why Our Team Loves Working Here

At Allied Dental Cockburn, you won’t just be “another staff member.” We genuinely value our team and work hard to create an environment where everyone feels respected, encouraged and supported.

What makes us different:

  • A genuinely positive, supportive and team-focused workplace culture
  • Friendly and experienced clinicians who value and respect their team
  • A modern, high-tech practice with excellent systems and equipment
  • A beautiful, professional and welcoming work environment
  • A workplace where initiative, motivation and contribution are genuinely appreciated
  • Strong focus on patient care, teamwork and creating an exceptional patient experience
  • A team that enjoys working together, supports one another and celebrates wins together

We believe great workplaces are built by great people. That’s why we place such a strong emphasis on positivity, teamwork, motivation and creating an environment where people feel valued, supported and proud of the work they do.

Dental Assistant Role

Your role will include:

  • Chairside assisting across a variety of dental procedures
  • Preparing and sterilising instruments and treatment rooms
  • Supporting clinicians to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Delivering exceptional patient care and communication
  • Maintaining high infection control and clinical standards
  • Helping create a calm and welcoming experience for patients
  • Supporting the wider team wherever needed

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualification and/or experience in Dental Assisting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge of infection control within a dental setting
  • Ability to work well within a team and take direction when required
  • Professional presentation and strong attention to detail
  • Motivated, proactive and able to use initiative in a busy environment

The ideal person for this role is:

  • Warm, friendly and welcoming
  • Positive and energetic with a great attitude
  • Proactive and able to use initiative without being asked
  • Reliable, hardworking and highly dependable
  • Organised, attentive and able to stay focused in a busy environment
  • Calm, caring and patient-focused
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys helping others
  • A team player who contributes positively to workplace culture
  • Focused, motivated and takes pride in consistently doing their best work
  • Proud of their work and motivated to continue learning and improving each day

We are really looking for someone who brings good energy to the team — someone who notices what needs doing, jumps in to help, stays focused during busy periods, and contributes positively to a supportive and happy workplace.

Dentistry can be fast-paced, so we highly value people who communicate well, support their teammates, and step in to help wherever needed.

An exceptional dental assistant is someone who becomes completely in sync with their clinician — understanding what their dentist needs before they even have to ask. We value assistants who are observant, proactive, highly organised and focused, and who can anticipate the flow of treatment to help create a smooth and positive experience for both patients and clinicians.

Dental Receptionist Role

We are also looking for an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our front office team on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Reception responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and assisting patients
  • Managing appointments and schedules effectively
  • Handling calls and patient enquiries professionally
  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting the clinical team with day-to-day practice flow

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous dental reception experience
  • Is organised, warm, proactive and confident managing the patient experience from the moment patients walk through the door
  • Is friendly, calm and professional
  • Communicates confidently with patients and the team
  • Can multitask and stay organised in a busy environment
  • Takes initiative and enjoys helping wherever needed
  • Contributes positively to the team culture
  • Is focused, motivated and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care
