Job Description

Home Helpers Home Care of Gwinnett is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Caregiver to provide quality care and support to a client in Lilburn, Georgia.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping others, reliable, and committed to providing respectful, personalized care. The ideal candidate will have previous caregiving experience and be comfortable assisting clients with daily activities while promoting their safety, comfort, and independence.

A minimum of 3 years of caregiving experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the client with getting out of bed by 8:00 AM every morning and encourage him to remain active throughout the day, unless medically necessary to rest.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care, eating, and transfers as needed.
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and meaningful engagement throughout the day.
• Accompany the client on community outings and provide transportation as needed to promote activity and social engagement.
• Encourage safe mobility, assist with walking and transfers, and follow fall-prevention precautions.
• Provide medication reminders according to the care plan and company policies.
• Assist with meal preparation and serving meals as needed.
• Perform light housekeeping, including dishes, laundry, bed-making, changing bed linens, and tidying areas used during the shift.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Encourage the client’s independence while providing appropriate supervision and support due to early-stage dementia and fall risk.
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition, behavior, mobility, or daily routine.
• Follow the established care plan, safety procedures, and the family’s instructions.
• Review the client’s routine and care expectations with the previous caregiver during the meet-and-greet to ensure a smooth transition.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of caregiving experience required.
• Previous home care or senior care experience preferred.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow care instructions and maintain professional boundaries.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.
• Must meet applicable background screening and hiring requirements.

Work Schedule

• Monday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Tuesday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Wednesday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM

Total: 56 hours per week

Consistent availability on all scheduled days is preferred.
