& Summary
The Experienced Associate will be responsible for supporting the Record to Report function through the execution of day-to-day accounting activities, including journal preparation and posting, balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close support and financial reporting activities. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound accounting discipline, effective stakeholder collaboration and a commitment to maintaining process efficiency and control compliance.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare, review and post journal entriesin accordance withapplicable accounting policies, internalproceduresand month-end close timelines.
Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, including the investigation,documentationand follow-up of reconciling items.
Support month-end, quarter-endand year-end closing activities to ensure the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of financial records.
Maintainaccurateaccounting records for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany balances, bankaccountsand other assigned accounts.
Prepare supporting schedules, varianceanalysisand routine management reports for review by senior team members.
Support statutory audit, taxauditand internal control requirements through the preparation of schedules and retrieval of supporting documentation.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors, taxagentsand finance teams to resolve accounting-related queries ina timelyand professional manner.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, approval requirements, accountingstandardsand documentation standards.
Identifyopportunities to enhance routine processes, reduce manualeffortand strengthen internal controls.
Participate in ad hoc finance projects, reporting activities and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, BusinessAdministrationora relateddiscipline.
Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance operations,auditor a shared services environment.
Working knowledge of general ledger activities, month-end close processes,reconciliationsand financial reporting requirements.
Sound understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply them to routine transactions.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting or ERP systems; Oracle experience will be an added advantage.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Strong attention to detail, analyticalcapabilityand ability to deliver quality work within established timelines.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams andmaintaina professional approach in stakeholder interactions.
