We are looking for an enthusiastic Experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Outsourcing Services team in Athens and help us deliver excellence for our clients.
About the role
As an Experienced Assistant Accountant, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality accounting and outsourcing services, working closely with clients and colleagues while gaining hands-on experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping and management reporting processes.
Your role will include:
- Supporting the delivery of accounting and outsourcing services for a diverse client portfolio
- Collecting, reviewing and processing accounting and financial information
- Supporting year-end closing procedures and the preparation of annual financial statements under Greek GAAP and IFRS
- Performing bookkeeping activities, account reconciliations and maintaining supporting documentation
- Applying accounting systems and digital tools in the execution of financial processes
- Supporting statutory audit requirements through the preparation of relevant documentation and schedules
- Contributing to effective communication with clients and internal teams
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members
- Staying up to date with accounting standards, financial reporting requirements and regulatory developments
What we are looking for
- BSc in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or relevant field (MSc will be considered as a plus)
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in an audit or accounting firm
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualifications (completed or in progress) will be considered as a plus
- Excellent knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, finance, tax and investment principles and basic knowledge of IFRS
- Experience in working with industry standard ERP’s (preferably SoftOne)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken)
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Team player with strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Positive attitude, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility
- Willingness to learn and continuously develop
