Location:  Central Otago

Contract Type: Permanent Full Time

We're looking for experienced Asphalt Paving Crew to join our Central Otago Paving Team. You'll operate paving plant, support asphalt paving operations, and help deliver quality surfacing projects across the region. Working as part of an experienced crew, you'll contribute to building and maintaining the roads and infrastructure our communities rely on every day.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on, site-based role working across a variety of asphalt paving projects throughout Central Otago. You'll be part of a close-knit paving crew operating specialised plant and assisting with the delivery of high-quality asphalt works. Working in a practical outdoor environment, you'll play an important role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Operate asphalt pavers, rollers, skid steer loaders and other paving equipment.

  • Perform pre-start inspections and assist with the cleaning and maintenance of plant and equipment.

  • Support asphalt paving operations to achieve the required quality, finish and production targets.

  • Follow site-specific health, safety and environmental requirements at all times.

  • Participate in daily pre-start meetings and identify hazards and risks on site.

  • Assist with general labouring and crew activities as required.

  • Proven experience operating asphalt paving equipment within a civil construction environment.

  • Experience working around asphalt paving crews and delivering quality paving outcomes.

  • Class 2 Driver Licence with WTR endorsements.

  • Class 4 Driver Licence preferred.

  • Strong understanding of safe work practices and commitment to health and safety.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to undertake labouring duties when required.

  • Flexibility to work day shifts, night shifts and occasional weekends.
