Most EP ads sound the same, so I’ll be straight with you about this one.
This is a regional role across two towns in the Upper Spencer Gulf. You won’t be one EP among ten in a city clinic. You’ll be the EP people in these communities rely on. If you want to work across the full scope of your accreditation, see what your clinical reasoning can really do and build a career somewhere people know your name, keep reading.
Proactive Health is a national network of more than 40 allied health businesses across 350+ locations in Australia. We bring independent clinic owners together under one standard of clinical excellence. In practice, that means you get the support, governance and development of a big organisation, while working in a local practice where the owner knows you and your clients personally.
You’ll join the team in SA, led by Jacob Crossman. Jacob has built a great team, with collaboration at it's heart. You’ll work alongside a physio, visiting podiatrists, OTs, dietitians, and you’ll talk with them about shared clients all the time, with the network only being one call away
Your caseload covers DVA, Medicare EPC, NDIS, Home Care Packages, workers’ compensation . You might start the day in Port Pirie running a group session for veterans managing chronic pain and cardiovascular conditions. After lunch you head up the highway to Port Augusta for an NDIS functional assessment and a couple of home visits with aged care clients. Then you’re back on the phone with a GP about a client whose diabetes management is finally heading in the right direction.
Day to day, you’ll be:
Now the lifestyle. Port Pirie is about two and a half hours from Adelaide, and Port Augusta is the gateway to the Flinders Ranges. You’ve got the gulf on one side and some of the best hiking and four wheel driving in the country on the other. Housing is affordable, there’s no traffic, and your weekends are your own. I know that this is a key role for the team, so I'm sure they would be able to help you move with a relocation budget.
Nice to have, but not essential: group exercise programming, an interest in chronic disease or aged care, and previous regional or rural experience.
New graduates: I’d genuinely love to hear from you. Regional roles are where new EPs grow fastest, and our graduate program and mentors will back you from day one.
