Job Description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Procurement planning of Raw Materials and packaging materials based on rolling demand forecast.

  • Negotiations with suppliers and ensure ordering as per the best market terms.

  • Preparing and placing purchase orders on approved suppliers as per agreed terms and conditions.

  • Ensuring timely delivery of Raw materials and Packaging materials as per the procurement plan.

  • Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance for continuous improvement.

  • Monitoring and controlling Slow and Non-moving accumulation of Raw Materials by taking timely actions.

  • Managing Raw Material inventory at optimum level and showing continuous improvement.

  • Identifying opportunities to reduce various costs components for reduction of total cost of key Raw Materials.

  • Identifying new potential suppliers for raw materials for cost reduction/risk mitigation.

  • Monitoring purchasing effectiveness by means of various analysis and preparation of reports for MIS.

  • Arranging Raw Materials for new development as per the requests from technical teams.

  • Initiating and completing the documentation process required to procure any new raw material.

  • Participating in negotiation process for procurement of indirect materials/Capital goods.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required level of technical and financial acumen to handle direct material spend (mainly procurement of chemicals and metal packaging materials).

  • Ability to prepare and plan for negotiating best market terms.

  • Understanding about standard terms and conditions.

  • Experience of working in ERP environment.

  • Knowledge of international logistics and custom clearance process.

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Powder point.

  • Understanding about various regulatory requirements with respect to souring of chemical raw materials from local and international market.

  • Ability to analyze and take informed and careful decisions to improve purchasing effectiveness and mitigate risk.

  • Market knowledge of various chemicals used in paint or similar industries.

  • Ability to read specification and Material safety data sheet.

  • Ability to work in a team.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7-8 years of experience in purchasing field, preferably in paint/construction chemicals/agro-chemicals/other chemicals/FMCG/Personal and home care/ Pharmaceuticals industries. Also, can explore potential candidates from E-commerce based industries managing category planning and sourcing.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, should possess required level of technical and financial acumen.
