Fahrenheit Advisors is assisting Tribble Electric in a search for an Executive Vice President to lead its Richmond, Virginia operations.

The Opportunity

The Executive Vice President serves as the senior operational leader of the business, with responsibility for overall performance, profitability, operational excellence, and long-term growth. Reporting to the Corporate COO, this leader will oversee day-to-day operations while helping position the company for continued success for future generations.

This role is ideal for an experienced construction or electrical contracting executive who enjoys leading people, driving operational performance, developing customer relationships, and building a strong culture rooted in accountability, safety, and service.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead all aspects of company operations, including field operations, project management, service, estimatinag, procurement, and scheduling.
  • Establish clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards across the organization.
  • Serve as a visible leader in the office, field, and customer community.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, licensing requirements, OSHA regulations, and company policies.

Financial & Business Performance

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and overall P&L performance.
  • Review and approve major bids, contracts, capital expenditures, and staffing decisions.
  • Drive operational efficiency while maintaining financial discipline and long-term stability.

Growth & Customer Relationships

  • Lead sustainable growth initiatives aligned with company capabilities and values.
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers while pursuing strategic new business opportunities.
  • Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure disciplined project selection.
  • Evaluate opportunities for market expansion and additional service offerings.

People, Culture & Safety

  • Develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing leadership team.
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, craftsmanship, and respect.
  • Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to support hiring, development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
  • Champion safety initiatives and proactively manage operational, contractual, and financial risk.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within electrical contracting, construction, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success leading operations with full P&L responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, safety programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership style characterized by humility, accountability, and consistency.

Preferred

  • Experience within a family-owned or closely held business.
  • Experience partnering with corporate or shared-services leadership teams.
  • MBA or other advanced degree.
