Job Description

Role Purpose

  1. Assist in analysing, planning and preparing the tax compliance matters for KLCC Group of Companies.
  2. Assist in safeguarding the KLCC Group of Companies’ reputation and integrity by identifying and research on tax optimization.
  3. Maintaining good rapport with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless cooperation.

Main Accountabilities

  1. Prepare & review of relevant tax returns and track filing obligations
  2. Prepare provisional tax returns for the purpose of year end audit reporting, furnishing of tax estimates for the Group of Companies.
  3. Perform financial data analysis, supporting IT enabled reporting and handling electronic filing of tax returns.
  4. Liaise and work closely with the Group Tax, external advisors and relevant tax authorities in respect of all tax matters.
  5. Participate in relevant meetings, prepare, structuring options and review agreements in respect of any project and corporate exercise, ensuring that the corporate exercise is structured or executed in the most advantageous manner.
  6. Main coordinator in handling tax audit and liaison with the tax authorities.
    Review documents and liaise with tax advisor on relevant study on capital allowance (new building and assets). Balancing charge/allowance on asset disposal and other relevant work.
  7. Process forms/documents and liaise with internal and external parties/authorities (such as MIDA, Customs, MOF) in respect of relevant reliefs and exemption applications (such as investment tax allowance for Hotel, and reliefs on Stamp Duty, Import Duty and Sales and Services Tax (SST))
  8. Coordinate and monitor initiatives to ensure that transfer pricing reporting and documentation needs are met in accordance with relevant legislations.
  9. Prepare and compile the relevant documents in respect of Sales & Service Tax (SST) initiatives within KLCC Group (including liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders)
  10. Prepare policies, processes and procedures in respect of tax planning and compliant activities with the KLCC Group
  11. Ensure that all draft contractual documents (e.g. Request for Proposals, Bid Proposals, Draft Contracts) within the KLCC Group are reviewed by the Group Tax for tax exposure (such as SST provisions, Withholding Tax etc.) prior to execution. Review the advice by the Group Tax together with feedback before engagement with the relevant internal stakeholders.
  12. Assist in raising tax, SST and Transfer Pricing awareness in the business through training, workshops and issuing tax alerts.
  13. Liaise and work closely with the Group Tax (including getting its advice and sign off), external advisors and relevant tax authorities in respect of the Group tax planning matters noted above.

Requirements

  • Qualifications

A university degree or equivalent certification in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Tax, Accounting or similar.

  • Years of experience:
    Minimum at least 5-7 years of working experience in Tax Compliance & Reporting.
  • Have understanding or exposure in both direct, indirect tax and transfer pricing. International tax would be an added advantage.
  • Additional:
    Experience in leading and coaching a team and SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
