Internal Affairs – Te Tari Taiwhenua is a central public service agency that plays a key role in supporting New Zealand’s government, communities and people. We deliver a wide range of essential services that touch everyday life, including passports, citizenship, and birth, death and marriage registrations, and helping to preserve New Zealand’s heritage through the National Library and Archives New Zealand.
We have an important regulatory role, overseeing areas such as anti-money laundering, gambling, charities, censorship and digital safety, while contributing to national policy and service delivery across government.
The role | Te tūnga
We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant / Executive Officer to provide day to day logistical and executive level support to our Secretary, bringing expert diary management, sound judgement, and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
Working closely with the Director, Office of the Secretary, you’ll manage complex diaries, coordinate meetings and papers, and support the smooth flow of information and activity across the office. You’ll also play a key role in connecting stakeholders and ensuring priorities are delivered in a dynamic and often changeable environment.
You’ll be part of a tight-knit, high-performing team that values collaboration, trust, and excellence. This is an opportunity to work at the centre of the organisation, making a real impact and contributing to a well-organised, effective Office of the Secretary.

The appointing range for this role $90k - $109K plus kiwisaver (with the potential to appoint higher depending on level of experience). Please note this is full-time (40 hour), in-office role, Monday to Friday.
